Travelling to Langholm
Langholm is situated on the A7, 20 miles north of Carlisle and 23 miles south of Hawick. It may be reached by car or public transport. A regular bus service between Langholm and Carlisle station forms part of the Scottish Borders Bus Rail link. This means that Langholm can be easily reached by rail through Carlisle station, which is a major stop on the West Coast Main Line. Buses also link Langholm to Hawick, Galashiels and thence to Edinburgh.

Visitors travelling by air should note that Newcastle, Glasgow and Manchester have Airports and are all connected by rail to Carlisle and so to Langholm.
For motorists, Langholm has a large public car park at the north end of the town at the Kilngreen. The Kilngreen is also the start for many of the walks.
